CJSC BAZ is one of the leading Russian designers and manufacturers of special wheel chassis and tractors with a lifting capacity of 14-40 tons.

The enterprise was established in 1958. In its years of activity in this business, the Bryansk Machine-Building Plant has manufactured more than 95 different models of automobile chassis and tractors. The plant’s products are widely used in the oil and gas industry for the mounting of cranes and equipment. BAZ chassis are used as a base unit for weapon systems. They are supplied to the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation and the defence departments of other countries.

Such well-known weapon systems as the tactical missile systems Luna and Tochka (135LM and BAZ-5921/22 chassis), the Osa surface-to-air missile system (BAZ-5937/39 chassis), the Uragan multiple launch rocket system (135LMP chassis), the Oka operational and tactical missile system (BAZ-6944 chassis), and many other systems have been mounted on BAZ chassis. Mobile drilling rigs and units for well repair, mounted on BAZ chassis, are widely used by such oil and gas companies as Gazprom, Surgutneftegaz, Transneft, Rosneft, in addition to others.

BAZ constantly upgrades the engineering level of its products, as well as improving upon its management techniques. The company uses a quality control system that complies with the requirements of GOST ISO 9001-2001 and GOST RV 15.002-2003.

Due to the output of special chassis for cranes with a lifting capacity of 25, 36, 40 and 50 tons, the production volume of the Bryansk Machine-Building Plant tends to increase annually. In addition, JSC BAZ manufactures special chassis for the “Ivanovets KS-8973”, the standard-bearer of domestic crane building, as well as being the first and the only off-the-shelf truck crane with a lifting capacity of 100 tons that has been produced to date.

The latest pilot projects implemented by the Bryansk Machine-Building Plant include a BAZ chassis for brand new truck cranes with an integrated base unit. The company plans to widen the range of its assortment in the near future.
