Scientific Research Institute ‘Kranostroeniya’ (Crane Building)

The SRI ‘Kranostroeniya’ was established in 2004. The Institute’s key staff includes specialists who have gained previous professional experienced at another reputable organization – the Institute of Stroydormash Scientific and Research Institute, which is well-known on the Russian and CIS crane construction market. As a result, the Institutes’ experts have been directly involved in virtually the entire history of the development domestic crane construction industry.

Today, the SRI ‘Kranostroeniya’ works within the system of the Russian Federal Service for Environmental, Technological, and Nuclear Oversight (Rostekhnadzor) and serves as the central coordinating organization in terms of the development and application of jib-type cranes and rough terrain cranes. SRI ‘Kranostroeniya’ actively collaborates with ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) and TK96 (the Technical Committee for Jib Cranes). The Institute’s specialists are directly involved in establishing the international regulatory instruments for this particular industry.

SRI ‘Kranostroeniya’ is continually engaged in developing new models of cranes and related equipment, taking market conditions into account. Recent projects implemented by the Institute, jointly with ‘Avtokran’ OJSC and ‘BAZ’ CJSC, have resulted in the creation of Russia’s first model for a truck-mounted crane with a 100-ton lifting capacity, the manufacture of the first ‘Ivanovets’ crawler-mounted crane with a 50-ton lifting capacity, a range of next-generation truck cranes mounted on a special crane chassis with an integrated gate system, in addition to a rough terrain crane.
