NAMS

The Independent Association of Machinery Manufacturers (NAMS) is a non-profit organization, which was established in 1999 for the purpose of supporting domestic machinery manufacturing and coordinating the business activities of its members. Oleg Stanislavovich Barinov, recipient of the Russian Government award for science and technology, has served as the organization’s exceptional leader for the last 12 years.

Today the Association's members include such leading domestic machinery manufacturers as OJSC "Avtokran" (Ivanovo) and CJSC "Gazprom-Kran" (Kamyshin) in the sphere of hoisting and transport machinery, OJSC "Raskat" (Rybinsk) in the sphere of road building equipment, and CJSC "Bryansk Automobile Plant" (Bryansk) regarding special transportation facilities of high lifting capacity. The "Scientific Research Institute of Jib Cranes" supports the Association's efforts by testing and developing new equipment while the Trade Company "Ivanovskaya marka" promotes overseas sales.

The primary goal of the Association is to support the domestic manufacturing industry by promoting its goods and services worldwide and developing innovative products, which feature improved consumer and technical characteristics.

NAMS facilitates communication between manufacturers and consumers of machinery products, supports government entities in drafting applicable legislation in support of this industry, and carries out market research.

NAMS supports its members in preparing marketing, scientific and industry publications, provides legal and consulting services, and assists in the integration of the Russian machinery sector within the global machinery industry. The Association also represents the interests of its members in both Russian and international organizations.

The Independent Association of Machinery Manufacturers has developed a long-term program for developing prospective jib cranes, road-building equipment and cross-country chassis. A practical outcome of this program has been the commencement of the mass production of jib cranes with a lifting capacity of 16-100 tons on all types of chassis. A project for creating a new generation of scaffold trucks, which have no Russian parallels, is currently concluding.

Each of the Association’s members is its crown jewel. OJSC "Avtokran" is a major Russian company in the manufacture of automobile cranes and special chassis cranes with a 16-100 ton lifting capacity. The company was established in 1954. In the half-century of its existence, the plant has produced and supplied more than 150 000 auto cranes to various branches of industry. The plant’s "Ivanovets" brand of auto cranes represents the standard of reliability and quality of Russia’s lifting equipment.

The "Avtokran" plant is the first and, to date, the only plant in Russia engaged in the development and production of cranes with more than 100 tons lifting capacity. OJSC "Avtokran" constantly expands its product range and plans to manufacture mobile cranes with more than 100 tons lifting capacity, the production of which has not been launched in Russia to date.

The plant is equipped with all types of production: metallurgical, forge-and-pressing, mechanical, welding and assembling. The plant's modern equipment, highly qualified personnel, use of state-of-the-art technology, constant improvement in its designs, and its quality management system enable the company to occupy a leading position in this industry within just a few decades.

OJSC "Avtokran" is a unique Russian producer with a quality management system that corresponds with the DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 international standard, which has been introduced and applied.

CJSC "GASPROM-KRAN" is one of the leading Russian plants producing hydraulic cranes with a high lifting capacity. The plant serially manufactures truck cranes with lifting capacities of 32, 50, 60 and 80 tons, which are mountable on both automobile and special crane chassis. The plant was founded in 1955 in the city of Kamyshin, located in the Volgograd Region, and has produced more than 60,000 units of crane equipment during its existence. Since 2006, the plant has produced the "Ivanovets" automobile cranes under a license agreement with OJSC "Avtokran".

Today, CJSC "GASPROM-KRAN" is one of the most up-to-date crane manufacturers in Russia, having a unique technological basis. Its series of telescopic jibs and special crane frames are manufactured automatically through highly efficient automated production lines, which involves modern pressing, cutting and welding equipment.

CJSC "Bryansk Automobile Plant" (Bryansk) is a basic Russian venture engaged in the production of special wheeled chassis and cross-country cargo carriers with a lifting capacity of 14-52 tons, which are widely used in many branches of industry as well as the modern military complex. “BAZ” special chassis are widely used in the oil and gas industry for heavy equipment assembly, for instance, as well as for capital repairs and daily maintenance of bore holes, mobile drilling units, hydraulic fracture equipment, mobile concreting facilities, etc.

"BAZ" constantly upgrades the technological level of its products, as well as improving its managerial practices. The quality control system, which is in accordance with standards GOST ISO 9001-2001 ¨ GOST RB 15.002-2003, is in effect at the plant.

OJSC "Raskat" (Rybinsk Asphalt Compactors) is a leading company involved in the development and production of road compacting equipment in Russia. At present, OJSC "Raskat" is engaged in the serial production of parkway vibrating compactors, vibrating asphalt compactors with smooth rolls, vibrating asphalt combined compactors, vibrating sub-surface compactors, pneumatic-tire rollers, static rollers, as well as field compactors.
At present, "Raskat" offer the market a complete range of road compactors from the next-generation RV series. The RV series’ identifying features include better functionality, reliability and operational convenience.

Today "Raskat" is the only domestic venture engaged in the production of road compactors in line with the quality management system, certified by the German company DQS, which also in accordance with the DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 international standard.

All plants that are Association members possess powerful production facilities, as well as highly qualified engineering, technical and design personnel.

Another member of the Independent Association of Machinery Manufacturers – the Trade Company "Ivanovskaya marka" is engaged in the sale of the plants' products. The company has gradually developed from being a local enterprise to becoming a major Russian supplier of construction equipment, having earned a reputation of being a stable and reliable business partner. Today, the company’s regional network includes 20 sales centers in major cities across Russia and the CIS.

One of priority directions of the company's activity is organizing equipment maintenance services. Currently there are 99 services centers operating in all regions of Russia. The best-equipped companies with mainly professional staff are selected from a long list of service centers by taking complicated examinations. It is these companies, which have survived the complicated attestation and certification procedures, that become certified as guarantee and post-guarantee equipment maintenance service centers for plants that are NAMS members. The service network is continually being improved and expanded.

Summing up the above information, it is important to note that the main purpose of the Independent Association of Machinery Manufacturers is to develop and propose the introduction of technical and financial projects in manufacturing practices, based on in-depth knowledge of the modern machinery construction complex and realities of the market economy. In turn, this should make it possible to support the Russian machinery industry in achieving a new level in terms of quality.
